ANZAC Day is fast approaching and the community is gearing up for services around Boothby. I will be attending two local events, the Dawn Service at Blackwood and a breakfast at Colonel Light Gardens. I hope to see many of you there, or else I encourage you to attend one of the other local services.
Some of you may have heard about the recent report commissioned by the Gillard Labor Government to investigate what the Centenary of ANZAC means to Australians and how it will affect multicultural Australia. It was disappointing to see this money wasted when most Australians, myself included, are fully supportive of our veterans and what this day means.
The welfare of our veterans is also very important to me, and there is no better day than ANZAC Day to recognise this, and reiterate the Coalition’s pledge to commit to the fair indexation of DFRB and DFRDB military superannuation pensions.
