Lest we forget

ANZAC Day is fast approaching and the community is gearing up for services around Boothby. I will be attending two local events, the Dawn Service at Blackwood and a breakfast at Colonel Light Gardens. I hope to see many of you there, or else I encourage you to attend one of the other local services.

Some of you may have heard about the recent report commissioned by the Gillard Labor Government to investigate what the Centenary of ANZAC means to Australians and how it will affect multicultural Australia. It was disappointing to see this money wasted when most Australians, myself included, are fully supportive of our veterans and what this day means.

The welfare of our veterans is also very important to me, and there is no better day than ANZAC Day to recognise this, and reiterate the Coalition’s pledge to commit to the fair indexation of DFRB and DFRDB military superannuation pensions.

One week to go!

It has been a long term goal of mine to ride in the Challenge. Each year another January came around and I had done nothing about it. Last year I entered the ride and completed the 60km section from Balhannah to Strathalbyn.

This year my goal is to do the full 138 km distance from Norwood to Tanunda, including the challenging Anstey’s Hill and Menglers Hill.

My aim is to Ride for a Reason for charity, with proceeds going to support the Cancer Council of South Australia.

Tour Down Under BUPA Challenge Tour - Help me raise funds for Cancer Council SA

Had a small accident in training for the Bupa Challenge Tour the other day and have a minor break in my hand.

But I will still be riding the full 138km of the Challenge in January as part of the Santos Tour Down Under to raise funds for charity .
