About Boothby

The electorate is named after William Robinson Boothby (1829-1903), the Returning Officer for the first election of Members of the House of Representatives in 1901.

Area and Location Description:
The Boothby electorate covers an area of over 110 sq km from Clarence Gardens and Fullarton in the north to Marino and Flagstaff Hill in the south.

The main suburbs include Belair, Blackwood, Bedford Park, Brighton, Daw Park, Eden Hills, Edwardstown, Hawthorn, Marion, Mitcham, Myrtle Bank, Torrens Park, Seacliff, St Marys and Panorama.

Products/Industries of the area:
Boothby is home to a diverse mix of workplaces including Flinders University, Flinders Medical Centre, the Waite Institute, Daw Park Repatriation Hospital and the Warradale Army Barracks, a number of nursing homes, thousands of small businesses, and major shopping centres at Marion, Castle Plaza and Mitcham.Church
