Named after William Robinson Boothby (1829-1903), the Returning Officer for the first election of Members of the Local Boothby landmarkHouse of Representatives in 1901.

Area and Location Description:
It covers an area of over 110 sq km from Clarence Gardens and Fullarton in the north to Marino and Flagstaff Hill in the south.
The main suburbs include Belair, Blackwood, Bedford Park, Brighton, Daw Park, Eden Hills, Edwardstown, Hawthorn, Marion, Mitcham, Myrtle Bank, Torrens Park, Seacliff, St Marys and Panorama.

Products/Industries of the area:

Car manufacturing, Flinders University, Flinders Medical Centre, General Repatriation Hospital, army camp and military Local Boothby landmarkbarracks (Warradale), a number of nursing homes, various small industries.
